Out and About in Looe

Looe is a picturesque fishing town in Cornwall, situated in the South West of England. Looe was first chartered as a town in 1270 and seafaring has been a way of life here for centuries with many tales of piracy and smuggling to add to its fascinating history.

With two rivers and a tidal harbour, water separates East Looe from the quiet West Looe, where we are situated.

You can wander down our old streets to the bustling waterfront and watch one of Cornwall's biggest fishing fleets unload their daily catch at the quay, freshly delivered to the many fine restaurants we have here. With over twenty-five restaurants and pubs all within a fifteen minute walk you will be spoilt for choice.

Why not laze the day away on our safe and sandy beach with a walk down the famous Banjo Pier or those feeling more energetic can take in the south coast path which has some of the finest scenery in the country!
